Work at home Jobs Starting Over At 49

Work at home Jobs Starting Over At 49

Starting over at 49 is not a title to capture ones eye’s but a present day reality that I am experiencing. For most individuals starting over is a career change, new job or with some ending a long relationship which can be an ominous task. For others a new and exciting chapter in ones life. For me at the beginning it was devastating to wake up and realize all that you have pain stakingly birthed had been in my eyes stolen. On a cool spring April day when nature began its new beginning I walked into my office for the last time, Began to collect my memories and carefully placed them into a cardboard box. I then reached into my briefcase, and retrieved the master keys to my empire only to hand them over to a bank representative.

I proceeded to walk through my restaurant door for the last time. To see all the dreams, the hard work, the tears, relationships and most of all the families that depended on me for their income just fade away. Its was like a dream but the only difference was that I couldn’t awake from it. It only seemed like yesterday that the contractor said congratulations and handed me the keys to our dreams. A seven thousand square foot full service restaurant, the completion of our hard work and absolute resolve. There is an unexplainable feeling of accomplishment when a dream and vision come to fruition. When you have experienced and overcome the mental, emotional and physical battle of the realization of a dream. One of the most difficult things for both of us during the birth of our vision was the skepticism we would encounter from our immediate family. Then to have all obstacles disappear and fade away when we begin to excel in our endeavor. It seemed to happen overnight we became number one in our market place with the waiting lines continuing to grow. A defining moment in my success was realized when I was able to purchase the car of my dreams. It wasn’t just an impulse but the car that I had seen thirty three years earlier as a teenager. It wasn’t the prestige of driving that car but it was the accomplishment of attaining a goal I had for 33 years. When as a young man I gazed at it and I said someday I will own that car.

During this period I discovered if I was able to solve a problem for someone else, that finances will be a by-product of it. My passion became a work at home  serving others and making sure they had a great experience at my restaurant. As our success began to grow I often remembered as a kid that we were the family from the other side of the tracks. A vivid memory that would often come to me was how embarrassed I was when I stood in the lunch line in high school and when its was time to pay the cashier instead of cash I would give her my subsidies lunch ticket which we received thru the state. All those memories seemed to disappear with our on going success. I remembered my father often would say to us as kids things will change when my ship comes in. Well, my ship came in and we began to enjoy the fruit of our labor.

Coast Guard Mascout - Turk

Turk is a full blooded Golden Retriever and has been with Coast Guard Station Elizabeth City since 1996. So far he has achieved the rank of BMC (Chief Boatswain’s Mate — he’s a Chief Petty Officer, one of the highest enlisted ranks!). Turk is considered to be a vital part of the crew at the station. He is taken care of through a military veterinarian, as well as the crew. His favorite past times are sleeping, playing with his Cong toy, chasing birds, and swimming.

Here we have Bear, the now-retired mascot of Coast Guard Station Kenosha, who served there from 1990 to 2000. Bear is a pure-bred Chocolate Labrador Retriever. BMC Chad Curth told us that Bear “was transferred from his kennel to Station Kenosha PCS on 4 June 1990 as a puppy. He loved to ride the Station’s boats and even rode on the back of the Station’s jetski. Kenosha’s school children knew him by name because he was one of the most popular attractions at their yearly field trips to the Station. His medical care came from the Army veterinarians at the Great Lakes Vet Treatment Facility at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.”

Watch Out for that BEAR!

Filed under: Social, Sports — NationalDefense @ 3:30 pm

Watch Out for that BEAR!

Awareness of bear behavior is the key to mitigating potential danger. Detecting signs of a bear and avoiding interaction, or understanding defensive bear behaviors, like bluff charges, are the best ways of escaping

injury. The Service supports the pepper spray policy of the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee, which states that bear spray is not a substitute for following proper bear avoidance safety techniques, and that bear

spray should be used as a deterrent only in an aggressive or attacking confrontation with a bear.

Like seatbelts, bear spray saves lives. But just as seatbelts dont make driving off a bridge safe, bear spray is not a shield against deliberately seeking out or attracting a grizzly bear. No deterrent is 100% effective, but compared to all others, including firearms, proper use of bear spray has proven to be the best method for fending off threatening and attacking bears, and for preventing injury to the person and animal involved.

Satellite TV Equipment Information

Filed under: Business, Other — Chris @ 11:59 pm

Folks that are still spending huge money for on cable TV will find this more interesting as it could well be the difference between sum they have wasted and the amount they should be saving. Without any shred of doubt cable television is the biggest loser when the innovation called satellite TV was introduced. Most people switched over to satellite TV because of the rather steep cost of cable TV.

Direct TV and Dish Network are the two dominant players in the satellite TV market in America today. You don’t have to look far to know that the low entry level fee charged by satellite TV providers is the reason behind the rush by many people to embrace the service. Just one factor can be pointed out as the catalyst that has enabled satellite TV service operators to provide their new subscribers with free satellite dish and receivers; the upward surge in the growth of the television industry. The annual subscription fees paid by subscribers is another way the providers make revenue, but the amount paid by customers depend on their entertainment needs and their financial capability.

It is the type of programming option subscriber’s need that determines largely what satellite TV operator they will patronize. The two major players in the American satellite TV market both give free installations, thus as a subscriber you can find out who is offering the better deal among the two by comparing the prices on their respective websites.

With all sense of fairness, we can safely assert that satellite TV is superior to cable television on two grounds- high resolution picture and quality audio; something cable TV cannot boast of.

It could be tough looking for the best satellite tv deal with so many options. You should compare Dish Network and Direct TV if you want to find a good deal on your satellite tv package.

What is a Mini Blind?

The long horizontal slats are held one above the other by the rungs of ladder cords shaped like a ladder. The lower ends of the legs of the ladder cords are secured to the long rail under the slats. Their upper ends are attached to the drive rod in the housing, the elongated box above the slats. As the drive rod rotates, one leg of each ladder cord moves up while the other moves down, causing the angle of the slats to change. In one design, this rotation is achieved by pushing up or pulling down on a long handle called a tilt wand connected to the drive rod by a lever. Lift cords along the ladder cords are also attached to the rail. They pass through holes in the slats and into the housing above, where they go over pulleys, combine and exit through the cord lock. For safety it’s important that the lock always work. A downward pull on the main lift cord raises the slats by the cords pulling up the rail below the slats. The cord lock holds the main lift cord to keep the slats up until the cord is pulled to release the lock. The safety lock made the cord lock easier to use.

Unlike shades, you can adjust the slats to control light and ventilation. For example, when completely closed and lowered on a sunny window, highly reflective window coverings can reduce heat gain by around 45%. They can also be adjusted to block and reflect direct sunlight onto a light-colored ceiling. A light-colored ceiling will diffuse the light without much heat or glare.
